Emily “Emmy” G. Harrell is an associate at the firm. Emmy was born in Morristown, Tennessee. She studied political science and sociology at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts in 2017. Emmy received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law in May of 2021.
Emmy had many academic achievements while at Duncan School of law. She graduated summa cum laude and third in her class. She also received six CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for scoring the highest grade in six respective courses and was named to the Dean’s List following each of her six semesters.
Emmy has experience in a wide variety of civil litigation and transactional practice. Prior to joining our firm in 2023, Emmy’s practice included advising Tennessee individuals and businesses regarding entity formation, organization, and planning. She also has substantial experience drafting contracts for her business clients including non-competition agreements, confidentiality agreements, non-solicitation agreements, releases, warranties, operating agreements, and corporate by-laws. She has litigated intellectual property cases including trade secrets and trademark infringement actions. Additionally, Emmy has represented homeowners and contractors in construction disputes and other real estate matters. She has appeared before the United Stated District Court Eastern District of Tennessee, the Tennessee Court of Appeals, and numerous Tennessee state circuit and chancery courts in these pursuits.
Currently, Emmy’s practice further includes insurance defense litigation, business litigation, construction law, general civil litigation, personal injury, and subrogation matters. She is a zealous advocate for her clients and works diligently to ensure that her clients receive an exceptional outcome.
Emmy currently lives in Knoxville with her husband, Matthew Milich, and their two dogs.
